The Parkinson's Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship for Clinical Neurologists is a two-year award providing USD 160,000 in total salary support to MD neurologists entering Parkinson's disease research careers following residency. The Parkinson's Foundation is a US 501(c)(3) formed in 2016 through the merger of the National Parkinson Foundation and the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, and has funded more than 670 scientists globally since 2010. The clinical track provides a higher total award than the Basic Scientists track — USD 160,000 versus USD 140,000 — reflecting the longer clinical training pathways neurologists complete before research careers begin. Worldwide institutions are eligible with no country restriction. Applicants must hold an MD in neurology or a closely related clinical specialty and must be within three years of completing residency or final clinical training at the time of application. As with other Parkinson's Foundation fellowship programs, applicants apply as individuals rather than institutions, and a structured mentorship arrangement with a senior PD clinician-researcher is expected. For the 2025-2026 cycle, the letter of intent was due October 22, 2025, the full application was due March 4, 2026, and the award start date is August 1, 2026. That cycle is now closed, and the next cycle is expected to open in August 2026. Applications are submitted through ProposalCentral at proposalcentral.com. Competitive applications demonstrate a clinically grounded Parkinson's disease research question — whether epidemiological, therapeutic, biomarker-focused, or care-pathway related — mentorship from an established PD clinical research program, and a concrete plan for how two years of protected research time will advance independent career development.
