Continuation and Expansion of the National Mesothelioma Virtual Bank for Translational Research
Funds continuing and expanding the one shared national bank of mesothelioma tissue, blood and data that researchers can all draw on.
Mesothelioma is rare enough that no single hospital sees enough cases to build a useful research collection alone. Since 2006, one shared virtual bank has solved that by pooling biospecimens and data from multiple sites into a single place investigators can use.
This notice funds continuing and growing that bank: adding more biospecimens β fresh frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue, blood, DNA, RNβ¦
Continuing and expanding the National Mesothelioma Virtual Bank β a shared, multi-site registry and tissue bank of mesothelioma biospecimens, demographic, occupational and clinical data available to the wider research community. Applicant institutions need an established registry and tissue bank already able to function as the national virtual bank.
