SOFWERX, the innovation facilitation hub for DEFENSEWERX and USSOCOM, is conducting a multi-phase Assessment Event on behalf of the Joint Acquisition Task Force (JATF) to build out the Autonomous Warfare Proving Ground at NASA Stennis Space Center. The program seeks technologies and solutions to enhance the proving ground's multidomain range capabilities, improve facility infrastructure, and develop an unmanned systems laboratory supporting autonomous systems testing and evaluation. JATF manages rapid acquisition of emerging technologies for USSOCOM, and the Stennis proving ground is intended to serve as a persistent test environment for the command's growing autonomous systems portfolio across air, ground, maritime, and undersea domains.

The four-phase event structure includes: attendance request for the Phase 1 Collaboration Event due June 24, 2026; the CE itself on July 15, 2026; Phase 2 technology submissions open August 18 through September 18, 2026; and the Phase 4 in-person Assessment Event at NASA Stennis Space Center on October 20 through 22, 2026. Participation is restricted to US Persons only. Eligible applicants include government agencies, industry, academic institutions, and national laboratories. No award size, contract ceiling, or performance period is published; JATF can award OTAs, cooperative agreements, FAR-based contracts, or prize competitions.

Teams with autonomous systems technologies applicable to range instrumentation, facility construction or integration, or unmanned vehicle laboratory infrastructure should submit attendance requests by June 24, 2026 to participate in the July CE. Technology submission details will be released following the CE. Contact is Sarah Marks at sarah.marks@sofwerx.org.
