FFG Eco-Cheque
Offers small Austrian organisations a de minimis grant for climate-focused pilot activities in eco-friendly business practices and model testing.
FFG Eco-Cheque sits under the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) and supports Austrian SMEs and non-profits that want to move toward climate-friendly and environmentally sound business practices. It is open across sectors and is designed for early problem analysis, solution development, and pilot trials of new business models, products, or services. The programme provides a non-repayable de minimis grant capped at EUR 12,000, covering 80% of eligible costs up to EUR 15,000. Projects run for up to 12 months with no extensions, only one Eco-Cheque is funded per organisation, and eligible costs are limited to personnel and third-party costs with the third-party share capped at 30%. If demand exceeds budget, the programme uses a random draw and reviews applications in random order until funds run out. This route works best for organisations that need a short, tightly scoped environmental step rather than a large transformation budget. Funding is paid only after the project is complete and the final report has been approved, so applicants need enough working capital to carry the work first. The record also excludes prior recipients, companies being established, municipalities, schools, and several public or research bodies.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
