FINEP Direct Credit (Crédito Direto) — Credit Lines

Supports Subsidized rate innovation loans for Brazilian companies feasibility studies to large strategic innovation development plans.

FINEP Crédito Direto is FINEP’s reimbursable innovation-finance channel for Brazilian companies. It is made up of concessional loan lines rather than grants, and it covers direct financing for large innovation plans, applied development, feasibility work, and telecom investment through Finep Mais Inovação, Apoio Direto à Inovação, Pré-Investimento, and Finep Direto Telecom. The direct lines all start at a minimum project size of R$ 30 million, and the main pricing bands run from TR + 2.5% a year on Finep Mais Inovação and the telecom line to TR + 7.5% on Pré-Investimento, with Apoio Direto à Inovação priced at TR + 4% to 7% a year. Finep Mais Inovação starts from PEIs of R$ 30 million and is aimed at large companies with revenue of R$ 90 million or more. Applications are rolling and can move through FINEP’s own systems or accredited partner financial institutions while budget remains available. This is the right route for mid-sized and large Brazilian firms that can support debt service and need scale capital for longer-horizon innovation work. It is not a grant pathway, so companies that want non-reimbursable support should look instead at FINEP Subvenção Econômica or CT-INFRA. The direct-credit structure suits projects with heavy capex, staged technical risk, or a clear path to repayment.
