Beatriz Galindo Grants — Attracting Research Talent (Ayudas Beatriz Galindo)
Supports Spanish universities to hire researchers with international careers as distinguished professors.
Ayudas Beatriz Galindo is the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities' talent-attraction program for public universities, administered by the Secretariat General for Universities. It helps universities hire researchers with substantial international careers as distinguished professors, and the 2025 call carries an €18,800,000 budget. The scheme funds minimum four-year contracts in two modalities. Senior awards require at least seven years of postdoctoral teaching and research experience abroad and carry at least €90,000 a year, with the university contributing €25,000 including social security. Junior awards require less than seven years abroad and carry at least €50,000 a year, with the university contributing €15,000. The call offers 100 positions, capped at 60 junior and 40 senior. Only public universities can apply, and each university may request up to five awards while submitting no more than three CVs per application. The program fits institutions that want to bring in internationally trained researchers for visible academic leadership rather than short-term project staffing.
