Project Pangea
Helps Free network interconnect Magic Transit firewall services nonprofit community ISPs serving underserved communities.
Project Pangea is Cloudflare's global in-kind connectivity program for community networks, nonprofit ISPs, and small or cooperative networks serving underserved areas. It sits under Cloudflare Inc. and is built to extend internet access through the company's edge infrastructure rather than through cash grants. Eligible participants receive Cloudflare Network Interconnect, Magic Transit, and Cloudflare Network Firewall at no cost, with bandwidth capped at 5 Gbps at the 95th percentile. The program runs on a rolling basis and is aimed at networks that can connect back to eligible peering locations. Cloudflare also limits resale beyond the community network. The fit is strongest for locally operated networks that need secure transit, DDoS mitigation, and a practical path to wider reach. Public examples include guifi.net, NYC Mesh, HUBS CIC, Zenzeleni Networks, and AlterMundi, which shows the program's preference for community-led infrastructure across different countries and operating models. It is especially useful where peering costs and long-haul transit block reliable service.
