European Defence Fund Project Cofinancing

Funds National co-financing top-up for Lithuanian entities in EC-funded European Defence Fund projects.

Innovation Agency LithuaniaLithuaniaGrant

European Defence Fund Project Cofinancing 2021-2027 sits under Innovation Agency Lithuania and exists to cover the Lithuanian share of European Defence Fund project budgets that are not paid by the European Commission. It is administered on behalf of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defence under the Defence Technology Development 2021-2027 programme. The grant is open to Lithuanian-registered economic entities that are already taking part in an EDF project with Commission confirmation. It can cover up to 100% of the national co-financing gap, with a maximum of EUR 100,000 per project, and applications were handled by email. The legal basis and delivery structure make this a tightly framed top-up route rather than a broad competition. The best applicants are already inside an EDF consortium and need help closing the remaining national funding gap. Priority goes to projects where Lithuanian partners lead work packages or carry a larger share of the budget, so the route rewards visibility and leverage inside the existing project rather than a fresh standalone pitch. It is a practical bridge for defence teams that have already cleared the European level and need the national layer completed.
