Lithuania–Taiwan Joint Research Projects
Provides bilateral research grants with paired Lithuanian Taiwanese applications, supporting long-term sustainable commercialization and growth.
Lithuania–Taiwan Joint Research Projects is LMT's bilateral programme with Taiwan's National Science and Technology Council. The partnership was formalised by an MoU signed on 22 September 2023, and it supports paired Lithuanian and Taiwanese applications for joint scientific projects. The Lithuanian side can award up to EUR 200,000 for a two-year project, with annual calls published in both countries and typically opening in Q1. Eligible costs include research, dissemination, project implementation, and partner visits to Taiwan. The 2026 call was announced on 27 April 2026, and the application materials are issued in Lithuanian and English. This route suits university and research teams that already have a Taiwanese counterpart, because both sides submit in parallel and the project has to clear review in each system. It is a practical international collaboration line rather than a generic domestic call, so the strongest applications are those with a defined bilateral research plan, a clear division of work, and a timetable that both partners can actually execute.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
