Research Council of Lithuania (Lietuvos mokslo taryba)
Funds Lithuanian academic and applied research through competitive calls, early-career fellowships, and international programs.
LMT (Lietuvos mokslo taryba) is Lithuania's national research council — the primary public body funding academic and applied research at Lithuanian universities and research institutes. It administers competitive bottom-up grants, bilateral international programmes, career-development fellowships, and national state-commissioned research priorities.
LMT operates as an independent body under the Seimas (Lithuanian parliament) and is distinct from Innovation Agency Lithuania (fid 346, business/startup focus) and LVPA (fid 407, EU structural funds for enterprises). Funding currency is EUR (Lithuania adopted the euro in 2015). Full application guidelines are primarily in Lithuanian; programme pages carry English summaries.
