The Venture Catalyst Challenge is Imperial Enterprise Lab’s flagship accelerator and sits under Imperial Enterprise at Imperial College London. It runs annually as a three-month programme for Imperial-affiliated founders, combining competition, coaching, and pitch preparation for early ventures. The 2026 cycle accepted 25 teams across five tracks and distributed a £100,000 equity-free prize pool. The prize structure includes a £20,000 grand final award, five £10,000 track winner prizes, and three further £10,000 awards for Moonshot, Impact, and Tech for Good. Team leads must be current Imperial students, an Early Career Researcher at Imperial, or an alumnus who graduated within the last three years, and ventures that have raised more than £100,000 in non-grant funding are not eligible. The programme suits founders who are still shaping a venture and can use structured feedback, expert meetings, workshops, and pitch training to sharpen the case. It is strongest for Imperial teams that want a visible annual competition route, but it is not designed for later-stage companies with substantial prior outside capital.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
