AI for Science Program
Provides academic biologists and life science researchers with complimentary Claude API support for advanced studies.
Launched May 5, 2025, the AI for Science Program provides up to $20,000 in Claude API credits for a 6-month period to researchers in academia and nonprofit organizations working on high-priority scientific research. Particular emphasis on biology and life sciences applications, including understanding complex biological systems, analyzing genetic data, accelerating drug discovery for major global disease burdens, and increasing agricultural productivity. Applicants must be at least 18, attached to a research institution, and must have institutional consent if employed/affiliated. Applications are reviewed monthly (first Monday of each month) by the Anthropic team plus subject-matter experts. Selected applications undergo a biosecurity assessment to screen for potential harmful-application risks.
