SOFWERX Capability Collaboration Events
Helps SOFWERX Capability Collaboration Events for Collaborative problem-solving events bridging defense needs with commercial and academic innovation.
SOFWERX Capability Collaboration Events are the front-end problem-solving sessions in the SOFWERX structure, where USSOCOM offices present operational challenges and developers bring candidate solutions. They sit upstream of Assessment Events, and the teams that stand out here are the ones that can translate a concept into something worth testing in the next phase. These events occur multiple times a year, are U.S.-based, and accept for-profit companies, nonprofits, universities, and research organizations while excluding individuals. Like the Assessment Events, they are not grant competitions. They are an entry point that can ultimately lead to other transaction agreements, CRADAs, prize competitions, or procurement contracts, depending on how the sponsor wants to proceed. The best fit is a team that can answer the stated mission problem directly and show enough technical credibility to move into the assessment stage. Because the events are tied closely to USSOCOM needs and often carry a U.S.-persons-only expectation, success depends on matching the challenge, the sponsor, and the next step rather than writing a broad proposal.
Each grant below is a distinct funding opportunity with its own eligibility, scope, and deliverables.
