Conquer Cancer — The ASCO Foundation is the philanthropic foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the main source of non-federal career-development funding for oncology physician-scientists. It funds original clinical and translational cancer research across disease areas through a portfolio of investigator awards that reaches from early trainees to mid-career faculty. In 2025, the foundation awarded more than $11.5 million through 450+ grants and awards, with support ranging from $1,000 merit travel stipends to $450,000 Advanced Clinical Research Awards over three years.

Its award ladder is deliberately staged. The Young Investigator Award supports the fellowship-to-faculty transition, the Career Development Award serves junior faculty in years one through three, and the Advanced Clinical Research Award is aimed at mid-career investigators. Separate international routes such as the Long-term International Fellowship, IDEA, International Innovation Grant, and Global Oncology Young Investigator Award extend support to oncologists and researchers in low- and middle-income countries.

Most programs run through ASCO's shared application portal, and many require ASCO membership, with free membership available for physicians in low- and middle-income countries. The foundation is strongest for oncology researchers who need named, career-stage specific support for clinical or translational work rather than open-ended project funding.
