Invest International

Provides investment promotion for the Netherlands by linking global companies with local incentives, locations, and market-entry pathways.

Invest International is a Dutch state-owned development financier founded on 1 October 2021 to consolidate export and development-finance mandates. It works from the Netherlands for Dutch businesses and public borrowers with projects in international and emerging markets, and the ministries behind it give the organisation a clear public mandate.

It offers loans, guarantees, equity, export finance, structured finance, and grant support through DRIVE, DRIVE Technical Assistance, Develop2Build, and Pre-investment Support. Its sectors include energy, water and infrastructure, agri-food, health, and manufacturing. DRIVE can cover up to 50% of implementation cost, while the technical-assistance routes pay for feasibility work, environmental and social assessments, preliminary design, and tender documents.

The organisation is commissioned primarily by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance and often works with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. Its entry point is a quick-scan and tailored financing route rather than an open grant portal, which makes it most useful for Dutch firms and project sponsors that already have a concrete international transaction or infrastructure project in view.
