Startup TRL 3-4

Funds Argentine deep-tech startups up to 7 years old developing proof-of-concept and early laboratory prototypes at TRL 3-4.

Eligibility · Argentina only

The Startup 2025 TRL 3-4 call is a non-reimbursable grant (aporte no reembolsable) from Argentina's Agencia Nacional de Promoción de la Investigación, el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación (Agencia I+D+i), the national R&D funding agency under the Secretaría de Innovación, Ciencia y Tecnología. It is one track of the broader Startup 2025 program that supports early-stage Argentine technology startups across different readiness levels.

Each project can receive the equivalent of up to USD 150,000 in non-reimbursable funding to cover up to 80% of total project costs. The remaining 20% must come from the startup as counterpart. Amounts are paid in Argentine pesos at the official exchange rate on each disbursement date, so the USD figure is nominal and subject to currency movement.

Eligible applicants are Argentine startups: no older than 7 years from incorporation date in Argentina, with a strong innovative component, demonstrated scaling capacity, and potential for value-chain impact. The program explicitly targets TRL 3 to TRL 4 — proof-of-concept and laboratory validation. Projects beyond that readiness level should apply to the TRL 5-6 or TRL 7-9 tracks instead. There is no sector restriction stated; any deep-tech or knowledge-economy vertical is eligible.

Applications are submitted through the Trámites a Distancia (TAD) platform. Before submitting, applicants must register in the Registro de Potenciales Beneficiarios on the Agencia I+D+i website. The 2025 cycle has closed. Given the program's recurring mandate to develop the Argentine startup ecosystem, further rounds are expected.

Practical caveats: disbursements are in pesos, not USD, so the USD 150,000 ceiling is an approximation. The startup must have been legally incorporated in Argentina; no mention of foreign co-founders or investors being a problem, but the entity must be Argentine. The 7-year age cap is measured from the company's legal founding date in Argentina.

Technology proof-of-concept and laboratory validation for any deep-tech sector, including AI, biotechnology, advanced materials, and hardware. Projects must demonstrate strong innovative component, scalability potential, and impact on value chains. No sector restriction stated — any deep-tech area qualifies.
