PIPE Health Technology Journey — Phase 1 (Jornada Tecnológica Saúde)

PIPE Jornada Tecnológica Saúde – Fase 1 (2026) is a themed call under FAPESP's PIPE (Programa de Pesquisa Inovativa em Pequenas Empresas) programme, targeting small businesses in São Paulo state developing technological innovations in health as defined in Annex 1 of the call. FAPESP — Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo — is Brazil's São Paulo state research foundation. The call allocates a total of R$ 25 million to fund individual projects at up to R$ 500,000 each, with project duration of up to 12 months under the Fase 1 feasibility and proof-of-concept structure. Eligible health topics span medtech, biotech, AI applications in health, digital health hardware, and neurotechnology, among areas covered in Annex 1.

Eligibility is limited to for-profit small businesses with no more than 250 employees and a registered headquarters or active R&D unit in São Paulo state. The Responsible Researcher must be a shareholder or partner of the applying company and must reside in São Paulo for the duration of the project. Companies not yet formally incorporated may submit but must complete incorporation before any award is issued. A Responsible Researcher may not have another PIPE application under simultaneous review. These eligibility conditions mirror those of the parallel Jornada Agro call, reflecting FAPESP's standard PIPE Fase 1 framework.

The pre-proposal window ran from 22 April to 22 May 2026, with companies invited to the full-proposal stage then submitting by 22 July 2026 and results expected from November 2026. As the pre-proposal stage has closed, only companies that cleared the initial screening and received an invitation to submit a full proposal remain in the active pool. Applicants preparing full proposals should review FAPESP's PIPE reporting standards, budget justification requirements, and the specific health thematic boundaries in Annex 1 to ensure scope alignment.
