FINEP Mais Inovação Brasil — Transformação Mineral is a thematic edital under the Mais Inovação Brasil Rodada 2 programme, which distributes R$ 3.3 billion in non-reimbursable grants across thirteen priority sectors. This call allocates R$ 200 million to company-led innovation projects in the mineral transformation value chain — encompassing mining technology, processing of critical raw materials, chemical transformation, and the supply of mineral inputs linked to renewable energy systems and the energy transition. Funding is delivered as non-reimbursable subvenção econômica via FNDCT, administered by FINEP under MCTI.

Only Brazilian-registered for-profit companies are eligible as principal executors. The programme targets high-technical-uncertainty innovation projects rather than incremental improvements. A financial counterpart contribution (contrapartida) from the applicant is required at a proportion specified in the edital. Research institution (ICT) co-executors are permitted. Per-project award size is not specified in available sources; the R$ 200 million pool is distributed competitively. All applications must be submitted in Portuguese through the FINEP platform.

The submission deadline is 31 August 2026. Applications are submitted via cadastro.finep.gov.br. FINEP's merit-review process assesses technical innovation, project feasibility, economic relevance, and alignment with the strategic priority of strengthening Brazil's mineral transformation industrial base and reducing dependence on imported processed materials. Applicants should retrieve the full edital for contrapartida rates, per-project award boundaries, and evaluation rubric details before preparing submissions.

Funds non-reimbursable innovation grants for Brazilian companies working in mineral transformation, critical raw materials, mining technology, and renewable energy-linked mineral inputs.
