The BC Community Gaming Grants program distributes a portion of British Columbia's gaming revenues to non-profit organizations delivering direct community programs across six sectors: Arts and Culture, Sport, Environment, Public Safety, Human and Social Services, and Parent Advisory Councils. The program is administered by the Province of British Columbia and operates on an annual intake cycle; the 2026 cycle opened February 1, 2026 with sector-staggered application windows running through the year. Local organizations can receive up to $125,000 annually, while regional or provincial organizations are eligible for grants up to $250,000 annually. Grant amounts vary by year based on demonstrated program scope, community benefit, budget availability, and the total number of approved applicants.

Only non-profit organizations are eligible — for-profit businesses, universities, and research organizations cannot apply. Organizations must demonstrate open membership and democratic governance, and must show genuine financial need. A critical eligibility requirement is that programs must already be running at the time of application; start-up or seed funding for new programs is explicitly not available under this program. Each organization may submit one application per calendar year, and applications must be submitted online via a Business or Basic BCeID account — mailed, faxed, or emailed applications are not accepted.

The application process requires organizations to select the correct sector intake window, review the annual Program Grant Guidelines, prepare supporting financial documentation, and submit through the BC government's online portal. Organizations are notified of results within the sector's own deadline schedule. To maximize competitiveness, applicants should document the breadth of community participation their program serves, demonstrate stable organizational governance, and show that the grant would sustain or expand an existing program rather than launch something new. The grants office can be reached at CommunityGamingGrants@gov.bc.ca or 1-800-663-7867.

Annual operating grants up to $250K for BC non-profit organizations delivering direct community programs in arts, sport, environment, public safety, social services, or parent advisory sectors.
