The BC Innovator Skills Initiative provides financial support to employers in British Columbia filling new positions in technology or technology-related roles, with a particular focus on increasing participation by underrepresented individuals in BC's tech sector. Qualifying employers receive up to CAD 10,000 per new hire. The programme is funded by the Province of British Columbia and delivered by Innovate BC, a provincial Crown agency supporting innovation and entrepreneurship across the province.

Employers of any size operating in BC and hiring into tech or tech-adjacent roles are the target applicants. The programme does not impose a published annual closing date and operates on a continuous intake basis. As of December 2024 the programme page remained current, indicating active availability.

Applicants apply through Innovate BC rather than directly through provincial government channels. Enquiries can be directed to info@innovatebc.ca or by calling 1-604-602-5202 (toll-free 1-800-665-7222). The programme's stated objective is both to reduce employer hiring costs and to broaden the pipeline of workers entering BC's technology economy, particularly for groups historically underrepresented in the sector.

Wage subsidies of up to $10,000 per hire for BC employers filling technology or tech-related positions, with a focus on recruiting underrepresented individuals into BC's tech sector.
