FONDECYT Regular 2027 is a competitive research grant administered by ANID — Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo, Chile's national research and development agency — targeting individual researchers hosted at Chilean universities, research centers, or eligible non-profit organizations. The program is Chile's flagship multi-year basic and applied research fund, open to Chilean nationals and foreign researchers holding permanent Chilean residence; non-residents are ineligible regardless of nationality. The program covers all scientific disciplines, and the 2026 cycle experienced a mid-stream amendment (complemento) to the bases concursales — applicants in the 2027 cycle should monitor ANID communications for any equivalent updates after publication. FONDECYT Regular is the principal grant pathway for established Chilean researchers seeking multi-year funding for independent investigator-led projects.
