Advanced Development and Validation of Emerging Technologies for Basic and Clinical Cancer Research

Funds further development and rigorous technical validation of a cancer research technology that has already cleared basic feasibility.

A tool that works once, in the hands of the team that built it, is not the same as a tool other labs can pick up and trust. This funds the gap between those two things — for technology that has already cleared NCI's own feasibility bar, typically through earlier work funded under a companion early-stage mechanism.

The bar to enter is stated plainly: major feasibility gaps have to be overcome alre

Further development, enhancement and rigorous technical validation of a cancer research technology — molecular and cellular analysis platforms, multi-omic and spatial profiling, imaging and sensing, immuno-engineering, or biospecimen processing — where major feasibility gaps are already overcome with supportive preliminary data, aimed at adoption by the research community. Existing technology applied only to a new clinical target does not qualify.
