Supporting excellence, cooperation or research in conference interpreting training 2026-2027
Pays universities and interpreter-training associations to build excellence, cooperation or research programmes in conference interpreting training.
This is a single-stage EP Project Grant from the European Parliament's Directorate-General for Logistics and Interpretation for Conferences, one of three conference-interpreting topics sharing a combined β¬750,000 call, with this topic carrying β¬150,000 of it. Costs are paid on an actual-cost basis rather than as a lump sum: grantees track staff time with a model time sheet and an hourly-rate calcuβ¦
The European Parliament funds the same pool of higher-education institutions, university consortia and interpreter-training associations as its parallel topic, but for excellence, cooperation and research activities rather than for running postgraduate interpreting courses themselves. Funded actions include integrating modern information and communication technology into interpreter training, cross-border cooperation between postgraduate courses in different European, candidate and third countries, regional cooperation among universities with complementary language regimes, and setting up postgraduate centres of excellence or research. As with the wider call, the Parliament's role is to identify priority language combinations and assist universities, since Member States are formally responsible for providing the training itself.
