Preparedness and Response to Natural Disasters
Pays up to EUR64K for space-enabled natural disaster preparedness and response services.
This is a Kick-start Activity run through ESA-STAR under reference AO10345. Applicants register on ESA-STAR, download the tender documentation via EMITS, write a proposal with a National Delegation Letter of Support where needed, and submit via ESA-STAR Tendering by the deadline; funding is split between an SME rate and a non-SME rate.
ESA wants Kick-Start studies for satellite-enabled services covering the preparedness and response phases of natural disasters -- droughts, coastal erosion, earthquakes, and floods or sea level rise -- plus cross-cutting services like disaster risk assessment, damage assessment, and emergency relief and search and rescue. Man-made disasters such as crime, nuclear testing or oil spills are explicitly out of scope.
