Develop a research and innovation roadmap for nuclear-powered commercial shipping, covering SMRs and other advanced nuclear technologies. The action assesses technical feasibility, ship integration, lifecycle costs, infrastructure, safety and security, environmental and marine impacts, waste and disposal, damage scenarios, regulatory and legal gaps, crew training, skills and social acceptance. It maps national, regional and international regimes, informs EU climate and air-pollution plans, and coordinates industry, research, NGOs, public authorities, IAEA and IMO perspectives under the ZEWT Partnership.
