Industrial Waste Heat to Power

Funds two €6.75M innovation projects that turn industrial waste heat into useful mechanical or electrical power.

ScheduledEuropean CommissionEU

Industrial process heat is a major source of energy savings that can also reduce the electricity burden of industrial electrification. This topic funds innovation projects that recover excess or waste heat at operational industrial sites and convert it to mechanical or electrical power, potentially combining the system with thermal or electrical storage for flexible generation and grid support.

B

Innovation demonstrations that recover industrial excess or waste heat and convert it to mechanical or electrical power, with storage where useful. Projects validate the system at operational industrial sites, survey sector-wide replication needs, standardise components, integrate with SCADA and EMS, develop open tools and business models, and reach TRL 7-8.
