PV Electrification and Market Integration
Funds three €6M projects that make solar PV more efficient for industrial electrification and more valuable in flexible electricity markets.
Solar PV is being asked to power more industry while operating in electricity markets that increasingly experience zero or negative prices. This topic funds projects that tackle one of two connected challenges.
The high-voltage DC route designs and tests architectures at 3kV or above, including AC/DC hybrid systems, storage and direct connections to industrial sites, servers or electric-vehicle c…
An Innovation Action covering at least one of two paths: high-voltage DC PV systems for industrial electrification, or PV participation in electricity markets. The first path develops higher-voltage architectures, AC/DC hybrid systems, storage and 3kV DC-grid demonstrations for industrial loads. The second integrates PV with dynamic or nodal pricing, balancing mechanisms and other generation, storage or demand assets, while demonstrating digitalised reliability and viable business models. Both paths target efficient, flexible and cost-competitive solar deployment.
