ScheduledEuropean CommissionEU

The health of people, animals, plants and ecosystems is linked. Pollution, climate change and other pressures can alter wildlife and ecosystem health, change exposure to pathogens or beneficial organisms, and raise risks and costs for communities. This topic funds two projects that make those connections measurable and useful for One Health policy.

Projects must study terrestrial, freshwater and

Applying a One Health approach to predict the health of terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems and wild species under current and emerging stressors, and to understand the links with domestic animal, plant and human health. Projects develop comparable protocols and common indicators, integrate ecosystem and wildlife health into an exposome approach, assess health impacts and the economics of nature restoration, and produce science-based policy recommendations that include vulnerable and intersectional groups.
