Young people with cancer carry a mental-health burden that's easy to overlook. When the EU Cancer Mission asked young survivors directly what they needed most, mental health came up again and again — especially support they could reach digitally, not just in a clinic, at every stage from diagnosis through the years after treatment ends.

Building and testing one online platform that addresses the mental-health needs of adolescent and young adult cancer patients and survivors — ages 15 to 39 at first diagnosis — across diagnosis, treatment and the years after. The platform has to be delivered as an integrated module of the European Cancer Patient Digital Centre (ECPDC) rather than a standalone product, work across mobile, tablet and web, support multiple languages, and combine personalized interactive support tools with tools for collecting and reporting patients' own mental-health data (PROMs and PREMs) in line with the European Health Data Space.
