Understanding those functional changes is essential for finding targets that work for patients whose cancers are rare, refractory, paediatric or otherwise difficult to treat. Identifying and validating therapeutic targets by studying tumour temporal heterogeneity, multi-omics, microenvironment and patient-specific factors during cancer initiation, progression, treatment resistance and relapse. Projects should integrate FAIR longitudinal multimodal patient data, use functional-genomics and computational tools, publish digital assets through UNCAN.eu, catalogue datasets in the European Health Data Space and involve relevant biobanks and research infrastructures.
