Circular Logistics in Cities
Funds three €7.5M innovation actions that make urban freight packaging reusable, trackable and part of a circular logistics system.
Urban e-commerce and freight currently generate large amounts of disposable packaging, fragmented transport and avoidable emissions. This action funds real-world circular logistics systems that keep packaging and loading units in use, improve reverse logistics and help cities move goods with less material and carbon intensity.

An Innovation Action that designs and demonstrates modular, reusable and recyclable packaging and loading units for urban freight, with digital tools to track, optimise and securely handle them. Projects must co-design solutions with cities, logistics operators, retailers and citizens; demonstrate them in at least two different urban environments, each covering at least two goods types; include reverse logistics, parcel lockers or micro-hubs and return and reuse schemes; assess environmental, social and economic impacts; and produce policy guidance. At least three cities from different Member States or Associated Countries must participate, including at least one EU Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission city. Projects must reach TRL 7-8 and collaborate with the Cities Mission Platform, CCRI and CIVITAS.
