Novel Internet of Things Services Using Space Capabilities

Fully funds feasibility studies on space-enabled Internet of Things services.

This call sits under ESA's Integrated Applications Promotion (IAP) programme Feasibility Studies scheme, fully funded by ESA up to a set budget per study over a nine-month duration. Feasibility Studies that produce a compelling business case can also qualify for follow-up IAP Demonstration Project funding; tender documentation is published on ESA EMITS under reference AO 1-8852.

ESA wants feasibility studies for new space-enabled IoT services covering areas like health and fitness, home automation and security, smart cities and transportation, connected vehicles, retail, and industrial work environments. Proposals should show how satellite communication, navigation, Earth observation or human spaceflight technology supports remote connectivity, positioning, timing or sensing needs the service requires.
