The Groundbreaking Hydro Prize, run through HeroX under DOE's American-Made Program, set aside up to $300,000 in cash prizes: up to three Groundbreaking Prize winners at $50,000 each and up to six Innovator Prize winners at $25,000 each. The prize seeks new methods, techniques and technologies to reduce the cost, time and risk of small hydropower foundation development, across geotechnical site assessment, foundation design, and foundation construction. Solutions can come from hydropower or from other fields like maritime construction, offshore wind, or residential and commercial building.
