Funds two research projects, worth up to EUR 3.5 million each, developing next-generation autonomous cockpit technology for aircraft flown by a single pilot without a co-pilot.

The Commission wants new cockpit automation technology that helps a single pilot fly safely without an on-board human co-pilot, reaching technology readiness level 2 to 4 by the end of the project. Proposals should develop new Human-Machine Interface concepts, simulation tools and AI models aligned with the Clean Aviation Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, with a focus on new technology bricks rather than full integration and demonstration.
