The Commission wants tools and standardised procedures for the post-crash phase of electric-vehicle incidents — assessing battery and high-voltage system safety, extricating victims, fighting battery fires, and safely handling, transporting and storing crashed vehicles. Proposals should demonstrate battery health-assessment tools on a real production vehicle and produce comparative statistics on the rate and severity of electric-vehicle fires for public communication.
