Empowering the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development
Funds coordination projects that consolidate European leadership in UN Ocean Decade programmes, capacity building and data initiatives.
Two exceptions apply here that don't hold across Horizon Europe generally: international organisations are eligible for funding as such, and the topic accepts proposals against only seven of the UN Ocean Decade's ten overall Challenges -- numbered 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 in the Commission's own roadmap, covering marine pollution, ecosystem and biodiversity restoration, community resilience to ocea…
This call wants proposals that contribute to endorsed UN Ocean Decade Programmes, Actions and Decade Collaborative Centres, or to the Ocean Decade's Vision 2030 white papers and data strategy. It wants projects to plan for the long-term sustainability of Ocean Decade activities beyond 2030, addressing at least one of ten named Decade Challenges such as marine pollution or ecosystem restoration.
