The Austrian Life Sciences 2024–2026 call funds Austrian company-led R&D and clinical studies in life sciences. Eligible focus areas are digitalization with health aspects (diagnostics, telemedicine, medical devices), new drugs and medical devices, and interventional phase I and II clinical studies. Participation along the entire value chain is required; foreign partners may participate depending on the funding instrument.

Funding caps are 3 m EUR for experimental development (TRL 5–8) and clinical studies (TRL 2–4), and 1 m EUR for industrial research, as non-repayable grants. The 2024–2026 initiative has a total programme budget of 45 m EUR. The call is open for rolling submission from 22 March 2024 until 18 December 2026, 12:00 local, via eCall, with seven decision-board meetings per year. The flagship project route — which also opens eligibility to universities, universities of applied sciences and non-university research institutions — is not offered in 2026, so the 2026 cohort is company-only. Each company is limited to one project per research category. Companies in difficulty are excluded.

Digitalization with health aspects; new drugs and medical devices; planning and implementation of interventional phase I and II clinical studies.
