This topic funds new technologies and solutions that reduce the environmental and climate footprint of research infrastructures, including reduced energy consumption and more sustainable ways to collect, process and provide access to data. Proposals should identify common methodologies to assess and reduce environmental impact, validate and prototype solutions, and train infrastructure staff to operate them. They are also expected to look at how new developments integrate effectively into local contexts, and to engage local and regional communities so solutions from other ecosystems can be absorbed and accepted.
