Applicants pick at most two sub-topics and describe them in the 'Compliance with LIFE programme objectives and call topic' section of the Standard Application Form — only the selected sub-topics are scored. The Commission funds Standard Action Projects focused specifically on environmental governance under the Circular Economy and Quality of Life sub-programme: supporting public administrations' decision-making and voluntary approaches for the public and private sector, environmental compliance assurance and access to justice, and behavioural-change and awareness-raising initiatives. Projects covering the underlying environmental or nature topics themselves, rather than governance, are excluded and belong under the separate SAP-ENV-ENVIRONMENT or SAP-NAT-GOV topics.
