The Operational Programme Environment (OP ŽP) disbursed EUR 2.4 billion over the 2021–2027 EU programming period, co-funded by the EU Cohesion Fund and the European Regional Development Fund. The State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic (SFŽP) serves as intermediary body, with the Ministry of the Environment acting as managing authority. Individual calls are tendered through the programme portal at opzp.cz, and applications are submitted via the national grant management system IS KP21+. Co-funding rates typically reach up to 95 percent of eligible costs, with 100 percent co-funding available in exceptional circumstances.

The programme covers six specific objectives: energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, climate change adaptation, water supply and sewerage, circular economy, and nature and pollution. Eligible applicants span a wide range of entities, including municipalities, local and state government bodies, research and scientific institutes, educational establishments, non-profit organisations, and private legal and physical persons. The programme's broad eligibility and high co-funding rate make it one of the principal channels for environmental investment in the Czech Republic.

Individual calls open and close throughout the programming period, each with its own scope, co-financing conditions, and documentation requirements. Applicants should consult the opzp.cz portal for the current list of open calls and associated deadlines, as the programme operates as a standing funding line rather than a single annual competition.
