RADx Tech ACT ENDO Challenge

Paid $3 million in prizes for non-invasive technologies that speed up endometriosis diagnosis.

Phase 1 submissions first go through an administrative screening for eligibility and completeness, then an Evaluation Panel of scientific, clinical, and commercialization experts scores them against criteria covering scientific and technological merit, clinical value, commercialization and regulatory feasibility, innovation, and team strength, before recommending winners to an NIH Judging Panel ofโ€ฆ

Looks for working-prototype diagnostic technologies -- such as imaging tools, in vitro tests, wearable devices, smartphone-enabled tools, or AI-based platforms -- that non-invasively detect, diagnose, or monitor endometriosis in adults or adolescents, with particular interest in biomarkers drawn from menstrual effluent and in approaches usable at the point of care. A technology has to fit the funder's own definition of non-invasive: natural-orifice sampling, finger pricks, and venipuncture count, but biopsies and other tissue removal do not. Proposals aimed mainly at basic biomarker discovery, co-morbid conditions such as depression or migraines, ovarian or uterine cancer detection, or large-scale epidemiology studies were ruled out of scope rather than merely disadvantaged.
