Targeting RNA in Disease with Novel Technologies (TRDNT) Challenge
Awards up to $13.1 million across three phases to US-based teams developing novel technologies that target RNA to treat human disease.
Every Phase II submission has to include a PADP -- a detailed document covering how the technology will actually be made available to the wider scientific community -- plus the preliminary recruitment of an external partner to help carry that dissemination out, looking past the prize itself and not just the underlying science. Submissions also need concrete metrics of success and efficacy in treatโฆ
TRDNT is looking for novel technologies that target endogenous RNA to treat disease, not standard RNA-based therapeutics, but new tools that modulate RNA-protein interactions, target long non-coding RNAs, screen for RNA-targeting small molecules, or address aberrant RNA structures. It's open to academic researchers, biotech founders, startups of any size, non-profits, and university tech-transfer teams working on RNA-targeting approaches relevant across multiple diseases.
