In scope are proposals that improve HGV driver facilities or welfare through welfare facilities for drivers; driver and site security; and HGV parking amenities and capacity, including spaces and layout. Examples include driver lounges, facilities recognising gender, disability and other protected characteristics, toilets, showers, rest areas, lighting, CCTV, secure fencing, resurfacing, white lining, electric charging infrastructure, and dedicated areas for noisy vehicles and trailers with mains electricity supply and noise abatement. The grant does not cover resourcing and staffing future improvements, normal running costs, general business overheads, or direct or agency/contractor labour costs. Improvement projects must not seek retrospective funding or funding for work that would be undertaken in any event without the grant.
