Racial Diversity UK Fund

Funds UK research into racial diversity, from £15,000 up to £500,000.

OpenNuffield FoundationUnited Kingdom

The Racial Diversity UK Fund is a Nuffield Foundation grant funding UK research into racial diversity, framed by the legacy of Commonwealth migration and Britain's colonial past. Grants of £15,000 to £500,000 are awarded through a two-stage process — an outline application first, then a full application if shortlisted — followed by external peer review and a chance to respond to reviewer comments

The fund backs research on racial diversity within the UK, framed by the legacy of Commonwealth migration and Britain's colonial past. The 2026 priority theme is inter-generational change in a racially diverse UK -- identities and belonging, aspirations and values, civic participation, and life chances across generations. Racial diversity is read broadly to cover all racial and ethnic groups living in the UK, including White populations, and any research method is welcome.
