The Barclays Eagle Labs x Plexal Scaleup Programme is a four-month hybrid accelerator for high-growth UK technology companies, sponsored by Barclays Eagle Labs and delivered by Plexal. This is a private-sector programme — it carries no government grant component and provides no direct cash award. The value is entirely in-kind: structured curriculum, mentorship, expert network access, and operational support. The 2026 cohort runs October through December 2026, with applications open from May 27 through July 31, 2026. A two-month Elevate extension for the top eight standout companies runs through January 2027, contingent on maintaining a Barclays Business Banking relationship.

Eligibility is restricted to UK-based technology businesses with a minimum of ten employees and either £2 million raised in external capital or £2 million in annual revenue. Nonprofits, universities, and research organisations are not eligible. No equity is taken and there is no programme fee. The curriculum addresses four scaling domains: leadership and operational foundations; commercial performance at scale; customer value, retention, and expansion; and funding strategy and capital planning. Applications are submitted through the Barclays Eagle Labs website, not through Plexal directly.

Plexal is an innovation hub and programme delivery organisation based at Here East in east London; it delivers government-funded cyber and defence accelerators separately, but this scaleup programme is a commercial, Barclays-sponsored initiative with no public-funding component. Applicants should demonstrate a clear scaling challenge, a technology-differentiated business model, and readiness to engage with the mentors and curriculum during the October–December cohort period. The Elevate track's dependency on a Barclays banking relationship should be factored into expectations at application stage.
