JLABS is Johnson & Johnson's 'no-strings-attached' global life science incubator network, providing early-stage pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and digital health companies with access to capital-efficient lab space, industry expertise, investor connections, and programming β€” without taking equity in exchange for residency. The network spans 8 physical and virtual sites: San Diego, San Francisco, Cambridge MA (via LabCentral), New York City, Seoul (Korea), Singapore, Shanghai, and EMEA. As of 2026, more than 375 JLABS companies have at least one deal or partnership with Johnson & Johnson.

Residents and members gain access to the Investor Hub, which connects companies with 140+ investment firms globally; JPALS, a program linking residents with J&J scientific and commercial experts; workshops, webinars, and networking; and global visibility within the J&J ecosystem. Three engagement pathways exist: physical residency at a JLABS site, virtual membership for companies outside hub cities, and QuickFire Challenge participation β€” a separate competitive program that layers cash grant funding on top of residency for companies selected to solve specific J&J healthcare challenges. Basic JLABS residency does not include a cash award; cash flows separately through QuickFire Challenge awards.

Applications for physical residency are submitted through the JLABS residency portal at jlabsresidency.smapply.io. There is no fixed application cycle; intake is rolling. Applicants must be early-stage life science or health technology companies operating in pharma, biotech, medtech, or digital health. The program is sector-restricted to life science and health technology β€” general technology or non-healthcare companies do not qualify for JLABS residency.

No-equity life science incubator offering capital-efficient lab space, access to 140+ investor firms, J&J scientific expertise, and programming across 8 physical and virtual sites worldwide, for early-stage pharma, biotech, medtech, and digital health companies.
