CREATE-X Startup Launch is an annual 12-week summer program operated by Georgia Tech's CREATE-X initiative in partnership with GTF Ventures. The program transforms projects by Georgia Tech students, faculty, researchers, and alumni into operational startups by the end of the summer. Each accepted team receives $5,000 in seed funding, drawn from the GTF Ventures Create-X Seed Fund, plus $150,000 in in-kind services. Georgia Tech affiliation is a hard eligibility requirement — applicants without a current or former Georgia Tech connection are not admitted regardless of project quality.

The $150,000 in-kind package includes pro-bono legal incorporation, accounting and tax compliance assistance, 24/7 co-working office space, coaching from entrepreneurs and business faculty, mentorship from industry professionals and alumni, and investor access at Demo Day. Demo Day draws more than 1,500 attendees. Program structure runs from summer orientation through Preview Day and culminates at Demo Day, with participants expected to treat the program as a full-time internship for themselves. Selection criteria weight team composition, quality of market and problem identification, and product quality. The 2026 cohort closed at capacity; the 2027 cycle is the current open application window.

Since 2014 the broader CREATE-X portfolio has launched over 600 startups with a combined valuation exceeding $2.4 billion, with notable alumni including Sila Nanotechnologies and Pindrop Security. Applications for the 2027 cycle are submitted via the official Airtable form on the CREATE-X website. The $5,000 cash is provided at program entry; in-kind services are delivered throughout the 12-week period. Teams applying should clearly establish their Georgia Tech affiliation and readiness to commit to in-person participation for the full summer cohort.
