DoW Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Research Program, Pilot Clinical Trial Award
Funds a phase 1 or small phase 2 ALS clinical trial that must start within a year of the award, with a biomarker built in for any drug, biologic or device.
Most promising ALS treatments never get tested in people quickly enough to matter. This award pays for the trial itself, and it wants it started fast.

Pilot clinical trials — phase 1 to small-scale phase 2 — for ALS, addressing either biomarker-driven disease-modifying interventions with a target-engagement biomarker or clinical-care and symptom-management interventions, starting within 12 months of award (18 for FDA-regulated studies) and building intervention-specific biomarkers into the trial design. A clinical trial is required.
