Most melanoma research money chases a cure or a better treatment. Very little of it asks what happens to someone's life after they survive. This award exists for that second question.
What is funded is a broad range of innovative, impactful research aimed at the near-term health and well-being of melanoma survivors, their families and their care partners. That is a wide brief on purpose β it can β¦
Research addressing melanoma-specific survivorship β the health, well-being, quality of life and function of melanoma survivors, their families and care partners β requiring at least one melanoma consumer collaborator on the project team. Proposals limited to animal models alone, or measuring survival without quality of life, health or function, are out of scope. Clinical trials are allowed.
