Not every promising spinal cord injury approach is ready for a full clinical trial, and testing it anyway wastes a trial slot on an unanswered question. This award funds the step that comes before: pilot, feasibility and optimization work that gets a technique or intervention ready.

Pilot, feasibility and optimization work preparing a spinal cord injury technique or intervention for a future, larger clinical trial — de-risking the trial design or comparing diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation options. At least two named SCI community partners must advise the project throughout planning and implementation.
